The “2017 Tongil Group's First Half Business Performance Report Meeting,” was held on July 20 and 21, at the Ocean Resort Emerald Hall in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do to share the achievements of the companies in the first half of the year, and to promote continuous growth and development. Including the Tongil Group Chairman Yun-Gi Choi, approximately 70 corporate heads and executives had attended.

The meeting, which started with an opening prayer by Tongil Foundation Pastor Chan-Ho Kim, led to the viewing of True Parents' Words, and Chairman Yun-Gi Choi said at the opening ceremony, “I hope for the affiliate executives who carry heavy burdens in the tropics to communicate with each other through this meeting,” and continued on saying, “Korea is undergoing drastic changes. It is not easy to develop economic power through business. Nonetheless, all of the affiliates have come to the end of the first half, by the end of June, without any serious problems. In the second half of the year, executives such as CEOs and CFOs should be aware of the reality and find out the potential of their employees to achieve their target performance.” He also urged, “GE Chairman Jack Welch always asked when hiring executives, whether the relationship between the couples are good. It has been found that the efficiency of the business increases when the home is stable. Let us make a culture that creates a happy family within our Tongil Group executives.”

After the opening ceremony, eight affiliate companies including Ihwa, Yongpyong Resort, Segye Times, Ilsang Marine Industry, Ilshin Stone, TIC, Shinjeong Development Company, and Pyeong-Nong had given the first half performance report, followed by a lecture on the theme of “Response Strategies of Companies in the Fourth Industrial Revolution” given by professor Yoo-Geun Haum, Tongil Group business performance report and an international activity report. After the evaluations and closing speech by General Secretary Sun-Pyo Hong, the event concluded with a group photo.
